Bond Issue Planned to Settle State Railroad Debt
After a Santa Fe session, the New Mexico state loan commission agreed with Coler & Company to issue 1 125 000 in state bonds on December 16 to cover Grant and Santa Fe counties railroad indebtedness dating back 30 years. Congress validated the bonds ten years ago following a Supreme Court ruling. A 1 000 000 acre land grant was used to pay the debt. Coler & Company were the principal bondholders.
