Republican candidate Robert P Ervien, 44, born near Philadelphia, is a Swarthmore graduate with a Bachelor of Science. A civil engineer for P and R Railroad, he moved to Clayton New Mexico 21 years ago, led a mercantile firm, and helped establish Union County soutien. He worked in electric light and water supply in Oklahoma and New Mexico, was appointed land commissioner in 1907, and is married with two sons.
Clarence J. Roberts, 38, native of Jefferson County Indiana, taught school and attended normal school, admitted to the bar at 21. county attorney 1900-1905, Colorado bar 1906, moved to Raton after Trinidad 1906, elected to legislature 1906, authored district irrigation law and supported public schools, member of constitutional convention, appointed to the supreme court in 1910, married with two sons. He is an Elk Red Man Odd Fellow and member of Woodmen of the World and Royal Arcanum.
Judge Frank W Parker, age 51, native of Puris Michigan, graduates University of Michigan. He settled in Mesilla and later moved to Hillsboro while serving as a law office. He has thirty years in the legal field and ties to the local education scene.
