Romulo Valles says he discovered a valuable turquoise mine about twenty eight miles from Santa Fe near Carbonville owner Messie Renehan and Muller. He claims ten pounds of stones with potential to yield two hundred pounds and notes the site could become a major profitable mine.
P A George, organizer of the Brotherhood of American Yeomen, organized a local Yeomen lodge Thursday evening. Ten charter members were named seven men and three women with strong growth prospects. Elected officers included C W White Foreman Robt D Martin Correspondent Q S Evans Master of Accounts Reuben Ripley Master of Ceremonies Mrs O C McEwen Lady Rowena Mrs O S Evans Lady Rebecca Mrs Myrtle White Physician.
The Colorado River has diverted into the Salton basin in California, forming a vast inland sea below sea level. Engineers doubt any dam will redirect the flow, and rapid evaporation may keep the lake confined, with minimal downstream damage beyond Imperial Valley irrigation concerns.
Delegate W H Andrews of New Mexico introduces House bills to appropriate 8200,000 for a federal building and U S customs house in Albuquerque and to grant pensions to Myron L Chase and Susan A Jackson. Bills referred to appropriations committees.
