December 24 1912 Deputy Collector J E Hesland seized the Farmington Distilling Company plant in New Mexico after filing complaints against James J Fay manager for removing untaxed brandy on November 10 and December 9. Ernest Weatbrook charged in aiding the act. Fay and Weatbrook bond set. further seizures and pending cases noted.

Prisoner Tricks Attorneys In Court Plea Jest
A San Juan County prisoner charged with horse stealing caused laughter in court by declaring he would plead after a talk with the District Attorney. An attorney volunteered to help, but the prisoner then turned and said, I plead guilty now, your honor. The courtroom erupted as the two lawyers were mortified by the unintended joke.
