Caught With Liquor In Elgin Court Imposes Small Fines
Deputy Bauman nabbed two soldiers and a driver in Elgin after a tip about liquor. All three men pleaded guilty or were found guilty for intoxication and unlawful possession. Each received a five dollar fine plus costs and paid up before leaving court.

State Fair Prizes At Oklahoma Show
At the Oklahoma State Fair last week HH. PL Wottenge won first on his Winter Orvingtons and placed second and fourth on other poultry events. Entries cost 50 cents per head or $1.00 per pen. 12 head plus pen cost $7.00 to enter. Prizes offered included 82.00 for first and 5.00 for second on singles, 8.00 for first and 2.00 for second on pens. Wottenge netted $6.00 in cash, with travel expenses about $1.30 each way, totaling over $4.00 more than premiums, while advertising value was high.

Soldier Funeral for Frederick Hellas at Fletcher School
A military funeral for Frederick Hellas was held Sunday afternoon in Fletcher school auditorium at 2 pm. Rev Johnson preached, with the Fa Sal band providing music. The service, said to be the largest in the area, concluded with burial beside his father Patrick Holian, in a cemetery east of town. Hellas was twenty years old and died in France. his mother, a widow, lives midway between Fletcher and Cyril.

Blind Quartet to Perform at Elgin School Auditorium
