School Notes Promotes Literary Club And Debating Idea
The school formed a literary club with officers Audrey West president Nellie Dillbere vice president Bar Weber secretary and a rotating program committee. First program last Friday at 2 30 pm. biweekly seas for student participation. Debating club discussed to benefit literary work and develop individuality. Ill weather kept many absent. thirteen on sick list. Names of punctual students listed by grade. Recess on rainy days replaced by physical culture classes for relief from sitting. New enrollments include Burl Sawyers Ernest Kitsmiller Walter Kitsmiller Elmer Kitsmiller Maud Baker and others bringing total to 77 in all grades.

Singing Class Notes and Sale of Books
Thirty books have been sold and an order sent in for eight more. Nearly all members attended Friday evening as three hours were devoted to work. Difficult pieces were tackled by Edgar Hishline Mildred Strother Grace Humphries Betelle Humphries Mr and Mrs W E Finley and Kiev. Total to date fifty. The class met again Monday evening and explained difficult transposition points. One lady said the explanation was worth five dollars. The same transposition work will be read on Friday evening with all members urged to attend.

Mrs Sallie Sperling is on the sick list this week and many neighbors visited homes and attended services. A Baptist Church was organized at the schoolhouse with 20 members and more will join later. Rev W E G Humphries preached to a large crowd with good order and some stood for lack of seats.

Death of Eugene Vetter in Elgin Home
Eugene Vetter died Friday night at his Elgin home and was found Saturday morning by John Renfro. Funeral services were held Sunday at 2 PM in the Catholic church by Father Van of Sterling, with interment at Elgin cemetery. He had been ill for several months and recently received treatment at Lawton hospital before returning to live alone.
