Reward Offered After Bank Robbery Capture

At a Brate Banking Board meeting resolutions promised rewards for anyone aiding in bank robbery arrests. Two armed men robbed Wynona State Bank, a merchant fired, and both robbers were killed by return fire. Deputies and assistants captured the surviving suspects, who pled guilty and received a $100 reward from the bank.

Capons and Roosters Sold in Manitou Oklahoma

Geo. Wyatt, an assistant cashier at the Bank of Manitou, caponized 29 Barred Plymouth Rock cockerels last summer weighing about two pounds each. At the time forty cents a pound was a high price. Kept for April 1916 they weighed nine pounds and could fetch 22 cents per pound. The uncapons would have sold at six cents per pound, weighing about six pounds.

A Regular Pourdown Bridges Blown Open by Floods

A heavy downpour yesterday evening lashed the town and drowned many young chickens sheltering indoors. Rain fell heavier to the south east and lighter northwest. Two bridges south of T J Myers place were washed out and the county bridge near A L Bincot’s priser was swept by floodwaters taking off two planks. Much cotton and kafir washed out. planting of ace disrupted.

Farmers around Eigin are selling roosters to prepare for a campaign of infertile exes. Eyes opened to new feed and eggs to sustain prostera. Merchants may refuse to buy fertile eggs, demanding return of goods to feed to the hews. No one will buy rotten produce or ration wees that rot in shipping.

In rough weather, Hay and Meeker attempted to reach Beaver Bend for a scheduled appointment but could not proceed due to heavy mud. After abandoning the trip, they returned to Rain and reported the detour and delay.

State Roads in Comanche County Face Narrow Path

State Engineer Danford told Lawton business club he will urge the state highway commission to withdraw approval of all state roads in Comanche County except the Meridian road and a route east and west through Lawton. If adopted, county roads funding and status could revert to near the original condition, with limited prospects for new state roads soon.

Allen Arrested On Town Charges

A man named Allen was arrested in town after leaving work and taking away tools. The incident occurred at A. A. Williams place and involved a colored individual. Details of the charges were not learned at press time.

Frisco Bridge Burned Causes Mail Delays

Early Monday morning a bridge on the Frisco line between Tillahoma and Snyder burned, forcing trains to transfer mail at the ruined span. The eastern division redirected traffic, and by Tuesday morning the line was repaired enough to allow limited passage.
