Teachers and pupils of Elgin schools organized a Saturday outing drawing a large group of patrons. The day featured picnicking sports and swimming with two minor cramps among Ernest Kitamilier and Buel Wolcott. Conveyance was provided to most children aboard two large land vehicles.

Fat stock is scarce around Elgin making full carloads difficult. To move the supply a mixed car of cattle and hogs was shipped to Oklahoma City on Tuesday by Ryan & Wolcott.

The Winners in Sunday School Class Prizes
The Winners, The class contests for prizes offered by H. P. Wettengel superintendent of the Methodist Sunday school, were decided last Sunday. The Star class taught by J. W H. Willhite wins for largest membership and the Gleamers taught by Mrs. Alvia Howe wins for best attendance average. There are 20 in the Gleamers and about 25 in the Star class. One of them will receive ten cents worth of candy next Sunday after the preaching service.

Poisoning Suspected After Family Falls Ill
Mrs. G. H. Ecclesfield and her youngest child fell sick after meals, diagnosed as stomaine poisoning likely from canned meat. Other family members showed symptoms, but one child who refused the meat remained unaffected.

St Anthony's Church Social a Successful Event
The social hosted by the ladies of St Anthony's Church on Wednesday evening May 12 proved successful both socially and financially. Sterling and Cement groups were well represented. Mule Left Beside Road Sparks Town Complaint
A rider found a mule left along the road west of town and the animal was found in bad condition. The mule was killed and buried after efforts to aid it. Mr Walker sent ten dollars to cover the burial costs and to show he intended to do right by the situation.

Two Ribs Broken In Farm Wagon Accident North of Geronimo
Mrs Geo Fuson suffered two broken ribs and bruises when a wagon jolted on a bridge five miles north of Geronimo while moving from a farm near there to a farm near Apache. She was carried to her sister Mrs James Gibson’s home east of town with husband and child.
