School Students Form Athletic Group. Plans for County Meet

Students at Elgin school organize an athletic association to boost outdoor sports. They ordered a vaulting pole, discus, and 16 lb shot, with work starting on arrival, and preparations underway to represent at the county meet in Lawton on April 11, 1914. Rules for the interscholastic athletic and intellectual contest set age, amateur status, and grade requirements, plus pre contest certification by principals and county school rules.

Found His Cow Near Doelkar Farm Last Week

A. W. Doelkar found a stray cow a week ago on the southern road near 1. BE. Goot’s residence. The cow’s udder showed injuries from wire and she bore marks of having been driven away without being milked.
