Boy Struck By Train Near Fletcher
An early Northbound train struck a boy named Smith northwest of Lawton as he stood on or near the track near Fletcher. The incident occurred when the boy reportedly stepped aside as the train rounded a curve. He was bruised and taken to Lawton after first aid in Fletcher. Several onlookers, including Wm. T. Powell and Moffett, identified the youth, though the name and exact identity are uncertain.

Revival Begins Tonight Under Tent Near Stone's Store

Leg Broken While Roping at Mineral Wells
P C Cornett of near Mt Scott hailed as southwest champion roper broke his leg in a Mineral Wells roping contest Saturday. He was rushed to Dr Knee in Lawton after bones were found in five or six pieces. The accident occurred just after he threw the steer in eleven seconds, the steer leaping and the horse falling, injuring Cornett as he rose.

Two Week Pax Meeting Opens as Holiness Society Rides
The Holiness Society began a two weeks’ meeting at Pax on July 4 led by Rev. Thompson of veky and Rev. Kersuy of Man ’tow. A dog bit three children near Geronimo Friday. two treated in Lavion, one taken to Gwinhoma City. The dog was killed and head sent to Norman for examination. At Lawton a rock struck G Bissell, a soldier, while walking with a young woman. it was large and narrowly missed. Judge R L Williams, gubernatorial candidate, spoke in Lawton Monday. An 18 month old child at nton swallowed tablets Saturday, convulsed and died within an hour. physician unable to help.

New Mail Route Opens With J M Mitchell at Elgin
On July 1 J M Mitchell of Sterling began carrying mail on the Star route between Elgin and Sterling as A P Rutherford’s term expired. Bids were called last spring but none were sent in and Lafe Hall was the lowest bidder, rejected as too high. Mitchell won the bid with a new hack and a team of young horses, starting the route in good shape.
