A sale is set for Wednesday January 10 at 10:30 am on his farm west of Rigin, including horses, cattle, a red Poll bull, hens, pullets, farm machinery and other items. Credit offered until October 1 1916 on amounts over $10, cash discounts apply. Lunch will be served at noon.

Record sale draws crowd as Anton Horst property sells well
A large crowd attended the auction of Anton Horst’s holdings on Tuesday with most property selling well. Barred Rock pallets reached 75 cents, James Sawyers bought the cookerel that won the $10 prize for $1.75. Cattle were thin but sold, feed stuffs and canned peaches fetched low figures, good prairie hay 16 to 20 cents per bale, shelled corn about 60 cents per bushel, and overall prices reflected strong demand despite scarce cattle.
