A boy near Sterling was injured Wednesday when he fell under a coal wagon. While being led home from Elgin, a hind wheel passed over his ankles and then the boy fell from a hill, another wheel passing over his back. An operation was required.
A reporter notes a brief trip last week when W. F. Wolcott drove T. Ryan and B. W. Hamilton to Sterling in his Ford, describing a record run by local figures.
Mrs Rebecca Good mother of Harvey Good of Elgin died of paralysia in Lawton at 4 o clock Thursday noon after a brief illness. Funeral services were held Friday by Rev Wagner, then burial at Crescent Oklahoma. Born March 30 1885 in Perry County Pennsylvania she would have turned 80 this year. She married Peter Z Good June 5 1855 at Canterville Indiana and they had nine children, all living but one. The couple celebrated their golden anniversary June 5 1905. husband died Oct 41 1906. She had lived with her daughter Ida in Lawton and visited her son in Elgin.
Mrs A P Shroyer aged 66 died of cancer and gall stones last Wednesday at Lawton hospital after an operation. Funeral services were held at Lawton Christian church with burial in Lawton cemetery. Born in Illinois she later lived in Iowa and moved to Oklahoma nine years ago on a farm where she resided. Survived by her husband and five children three sons and two daughters. Her husband was a Democratic primary candidate for state representative last August.
Cleo McCraw four died at home after a brief illness with complications. She was the daughter of Mr and Mrs L P McCraw and was buried at Sterling on Sunday.
The Baker medicine man arrived Friday claiming a loss between 350 and 400 dollars after a fire at a livery barn. John also suffered goods burned, with J. H. Buckley noting a woman in the McAnan elevator threw water over the roof rather than mail carrier T. O. Miller, or ten dollars worth of goods.
The tax extension law grants all taxes due to be paid by June 1 1915 at six percent interest. If unpaid after the extension period the six percent rate vanishes and an eighteen percent penalty attaches.
A man driving from Sterling to Elgin chased the 12:17 p m train, reaching Elgin at 12 21 pm in 18 minutes for a nine mile trip. Onlookers noted the road's heavy sand made the dash harder, as Wolcott gripped the steering wheel in relief when safe.

Yeoman Lodge Recipient T. O. Miller announces Elgin Lodge No. 885 will mark its 18th birthday on Thursday evening February 15. All Yeomen and families urged to attend under correspondence from Mary F. Putney.
