A six stitch injury followed when a cow with one blind eye gored a boy riding with a doe southeast of Elgin. The horn tore upward by the eye leaving a terrible wound. the patient walked home exhausted but improved after medical care.
Vertie F Herndon aged 20 and Miss Lucile Russell aged 17 were married at Waltern last Tuesday. They later moved to the DH Penwell farm north of town, formerly P K Dudley, where they expect to reside. The bride is the daughter of Mr and Mrs R P Russell of Lawton and is well known there. The groom also formerly lived in Lawton.
A Methodist church announces preaching next Sunday at Seatear Ane Seventy Bye pastor. The second quarter conference will be held soon at Beaver Bend.
The Comanche County Poultry Association seeks new members to raise purebred breeds including 3 0 Brown Leghorns Reda and Cornish, with advice on starting stock and costs. Secretary H E B Ogle notes high demand and ongoing inquiries, urging members to boost production for winter orders.
Miss Jimmie Wadeworth visited from Bartlesville at H. M. Fairbright’s home on route 3. Clifford Dinn returned last week from Missouri. A. A. Money moved from route 3 to Mountain Grove Missouri. Carrier Mitchell resumed work on the star route after seven days illness. Arch Boxton made his last trip on the water route last Wednesday and no carrier was available Thursday. Lee May and J. B. Hamilton appear on route 3 patrons as others travel to Lawton and Oklahoma City for business and medical visits. Local moves include G. W. Brown shipping steers to Oklahoma and Mrs Murphy noting recent California news.
Mrs Fannie Shaffer and her children Ruby and Harold visited her parents J McDaniels in Apache. Ollie Gilliland called in Lawton Friday for dental work. Mr and Mrs Nat Miller visited Elgin Friday. Hale family spent Sunday with the Ballou home. Clarence and Walter Mardrog visited Seth and Walter Ballou Sunday. Sunday evening guests at the Gilliland home included Eu Allen Jim Martin Geo McDermott and Herbert Curtpat.
