The Indiana Lithins defeated Elgin 10 to 6 in a shaky ballgame marked by errors and fireworks. Key moments included early runs for Indiana, a seventh inning surge, and a costly misplay by Elgin in right field. Mitchell returned from absence to contribute in the final innings.
A garbled diary notes a day at Wichita Forest Preserve with six amtonobiled and thirty one people traveling from here to baw on via the six Cache to Forest Headquarters. JON Black of route 2 returned last Wednesday from a trip to Antelope Texas. C W Compton of route 2 attended Plewody Thursday. Mrs Grace Boone and daughter Lula visited the brother A L Smoot on route 2 and then traveled to Catosan. W M Rehwalt L C Chamberlin and J Ho Black own new automobiles. Mrs J J Selis of route 3 visited Gerty in Haynes county. Lone trouble occurred Thursday on route A as F C Mordershin firm sonmel apox was involved. Mord was taken to Lawton on 8800 bond. Miss Wily Hagenberk of route 3 returned Sunday from a visit with sister Mrs Chas Buda at Alvus. Mrs H B Kirklen of route 3 returned last week from visits at Pairview and Enid. John Coat, carrier on route 3, made a business trip to Apache Tuesday and substitute Cremer rewrried the route.
At the annual meeting in Mistletoe the community voted a seven months term for the coming school year and decided to employ two teachers. A. L. Smoot was elected to the school board for three years.
The Bigin ball team defeated Ft. Sill Indians with Deeds pitching and Brown catching. Earlier misprints aside, Elgis started as pitcher for Elmgis in the early innings.
Elgin defeated the Indians 6 to 5 in Plecady on Friday in a close game. Indians led early but Elgin rallied in the sixth and seventh innings to pull ahead. Pitchers Bark Latheow Mitchell and Sessuma delivered steady work as Elgin captured a hard fought win.

In Lawton at about six, J W Yeoman was shot twice in the head by his wife with a Colt revolver. She then placed the gun to her head and killed herself. The couple’s daughter Ruth witnessed part of the events and found both parents dying. Yeoman, long known countywide, was an agent for Waddell Investment Co. Funeral arrangements followed, with burial alongside relatives. Surviving family includes two sons and one daughter, Ruth.
