Prizes offered for events at the Co manche County Athletic and Intellectual Contest to be held in Lawton include 100 yard dash 220 yard dash 440 yard dash 80 yard dash broad jump high jump pole vault shot put relay race boys and girls basketball debates oratorical contest and recital events. A prize is also set for the school winning total points across intellectual and athletic contests and one for the best all around athlete.

Last Friday James Eads shipped three gallons of water from here to his son Charlie at Layton, his second shipment of the same amount. Charlie's wife is ill and the physician advised a change of water, prompting the Elgin shipment to test its medicinal properties.
