Horribly mutilated bodies of dead miners brought to the surface. Arms, legs and heads missing from some. Coroner starts investigation into the disaster and mass fatalities involving 138 men.
Pittsburg, Nov 30. At 1 pm 110 bodies were recovered from the Marianna mine of the Pittsburg Buffalo Coal Co. as explosion toll rises. Officials fear 134 to 138 men were killed. bodies found in parts and pools, some not scratched. Coroner to organize a jury as rescue work continues amid rain and dangerous conditions.
A fire in McCanna at midnight caused about 10000 in damage. The A D Layer meat market run by John Boyls caught first, spreading to the McCanna hotel and the adjacent billiard hall and Patterson restaurant. Bawards Bros store suffered light damage, with losses summarized as building contents and partial insurance coverage.

Gedney, of Onalaska Wisconsin, had run the business ten years and was a cousin of Mrs Leslie Welter of Moorhead.

A brief statement on the doors confirmed that officers have decided to give up the struggle and take the institution into liquidation John Jenkins Jr former president of the Jenkins Trust Co is on trial in Brooklyn on a larceny charge connected with the bank affair.
Winnipeg dispatch reports the Canadian Pacific railway company refused to transport American cattle through Canada for export to the United States. The move blocks cattle from entering any Canadian port, halting cross border shipments.
