A pair of storms lashed eastern North Dakota and western Minnesota this weekend causing floods basements in Fargo Moorhead and other towns. Wind hail and lightning damaged trees and utilities with three deaths reported and communications crippled.
New York June 28 Subpoena servers sent by Deputy Attorney General Cook to Evelyn Nesbit Thaw to testify on the sanity of Harry Thaw. Agents cannot confirm if she will accept the summons and she is at Chateauguay Lake New York. Cook wants her to relate Thaw’s alleged Matteawan remark about killing when he gets out. Official attitude unknown as she has not been interviewed. Before testimony, Justice Hendricks warned reporters the trial in the newspapers must stop.
New Rockford North Dakota June 28 with 416000 raised as a nucleus to add more the city plans a strenuous drive to shift the state capital from Bismarck to New Rockford under the initiative law boosters say they will invade every section to secure signatures for a vote. New Rockford previously had a bill to move the capital but it failed. supporters now expect a successful result if brought up again. They claim central location and Surrey line access boost viability and that 15000 is only a starter funding for a broader campaign.

A dramatic high altitude air duel over Poelcappele Belgium involves a large German double engine biplane and an English aeroplane. Both planes were crippled and forced to land. Two British officers and the pilot were injured. German casualties believed but not confirmed. The incident was reported by the official press in London.
