John Hanson, about 28, a resident of Hillsboro who worked for Eston Viken, drowned while bathing above the dam. Sheriff Osmen led a party to recover the body but resuscitation attempts failed. Hanson had a Williame county claim and a brother reportedly traveling from Norway to join him.
