Joseph Adams known as the King of the Gypsies was freed on a writ of habeas corpus in Kansas City after being held in St. Joseph while awaiting extradition to Windsor Ontario. He faced charges of embezzlement and alleged conspiracy with a live gypsy band. Canadian officials later informed the court he had been regularly indicted in Canada, and Adams was taken into custody again.
Washington June 25. The attorney general ordered dismissal of the government's suit against the New York New Haven Hartford Boston and Maine railways for violating anti trust laws. The action followed Massachusetts legislative action affecting the case.
West Point Nebraska reports a tornado last evening destroying Saint Joseph's Catholic church and seriously damaging about a dozen homes.
