Bergen hosts banquet for Governor Hanna of North Dakota who arrives with a Lincoln statue for Norway. The visit deepens friendly ties and sparks heightened interest among Norwegians, particularly younger people, in emigrating to North Dakota despite officials’ discouragement.
Judge Pollock R B Griffith and Geo B Winship publish Forum statements urging Governor Hanna's renomination for North Dakota governor. They condemn liquor trade leniency, praise Hanna's enforcement of prohibition, fiscal efficiency, and appointing skill, while urging Republicans to unite behind Hanna in the upcoming primary.
In Bismarck on June 22 supporters of Governor Hanna flood the city with optimistic letters from counties across North Dakota forecasting Hanna will carry key regions. Analysts expect Hanna to win big in Mercer, McLean, Ward, Burleigh, McKenzie and other counties with margins ranging from 100 to 600 in several districts while northern and midstate areas split closely and some counties favored Hanna.
W G Calderwood, chair of the Minnesota prohibition commission, travels to Washington with W E Pussyfoot Johnson to object to delay in enforcing treaty provisions upheld by the Supreme Court. He notes liquor interests seek a stay despite three years of preparation and three favorable decisions against them. He plans talks with Indian department and justice officials.
Washington June 23 The sub committee regrets its inability to either recommend complete acquittal or impeachment of Judge Emory Speer of Macon Georgia. The majority report says Speer’s actions approached tyranny yet urges no further prosecution while Volstead criticizes the process and seeks stronger protection for the judge, urging fairness and justice.
Carrington North Dakota June 23 After canvassing the senatorial scene county wide T F McCue former attorney general predicts Foster County will cast an overwhelming vote for President Worst in tomorrow's primaries McCue notes Worst is a new figure in North Dakota politics though well known as a farmer and educator.
McVille North Dakota June Sts Beheser Gronna spoke to a large crowd in his home county amid strong sentiment against him in Nelson county. Lakota also appears doubtful with counties split between Gronna and Worst. Miller supporters show uneven activity. the race narrows to Worst versus Gronna with Worst gaining perception.
President Hansel praised Fargo volunteers and workers for surpassing the $190000 goal. He highlighted the untiring efforts and sacrifices of about 200 people who endured great strain, describing their dedication as remarkably noble.
Hamburg dispatch reports the North German Lloyd steamer Koenigen Louise colliding with the German passenger steamer Cobra. Both vessels suffered severe damage but all passengers were safely taken ashore. Another note from Gackle, North Carolina, describes Gedan Iraars’s death after gas inhalation as rescuers brought him to the surface from a well.
Williston voters on June 22 pledge a strong endorsement for Gov. L B Hanna, praising him as courageous, efficient and a hard working executive despite any contrary statements.

W A Scott touts Worst knowledge of the state gained at taxpayers expense, urging voters to elect him. Dr Anna Howard Shaw, president of the National American Woman's Suffrage Association, plans North Dakota campaign stops in October to boost suffrage and support for the candidate.
Seventeen petitions totaling 676 North Dakota Germans were sent to the North Dakota Enforcement league urging support for prohibition enforcement and opposing any resubmission of the saloon issue. The signers declare they are German North Dakotans who stand for prohibition and urge fellow Germans to vote against the resubmission effort.
