Grand Forks mobilization drives recruiting for two units

Grand Forks North Dakota June 22 recruits flooded in as Company M and the Machine Gun company of the national guard pressed toward a 150 man full war footing. Over 85 enlisted by Wednesday afternoon with a Friday mobilization by Fort Lincoln expected. Company C also anticipated to arrive Friday morning.

June 22 at Naco Arizona a guard unit from Company E Fourteenth United States Infantry engaged by a half bike kept waterworks guarding party resulting in one American dead and three wounded. Capt Levis of nth Cavalry had commanded his detachment at Rizal.

Greece Accepts Entente Terms and Allied Fleet Moves

Reports from Paris and Saloniki state Greece has accepted all Entente demands and a unified allied fleet will cruise before Piraeus with a landing party possibly to follow. Vice Admiral Moreau will command the fleet as events unfold. In Utah, six cavalry troops camp at Fort Douglas with field artillery ready at the state fair grounds.

Carrizal Clash Reports Increase Tensions Between Nations

U. S. Employees to Receive Partial Pay During Guard Service

Government employees who enlist with the national guard for Mexican border duty will be paid for at least forty five days of absence. The attorney general notes that pay beyond that period would require a special act of Congress. The new army reserve act provides fifteen days of training leave and thirty days annual leave with pay.
