Fargo Commercial club extended an invitation to the Church of the Brethren known as Dunkards to set Fargo as the 1917 convention city aiming to draw 15 000 to 20 000 members. Brethren leaders estimate eastern conventions draw 50 000 to 60 000 and Tacoma hosted 17 000 though Brethren are more numerous in the east.
