Bride of Eight Months Dies in Fargo Home Tragedy
Mrs. J R Morton wife of a Fargo attorney died in her home at 909 Tenth avenue south from suspected asphyxiation while awaiting her husband’s return. The couple had married eight months earlier and were new arrivals in Fargo. Her mother in law, 73, witnessed the scene and survived the shock. Morton, delayed by a late train, returned to find the tragedy and later planned the arrangements to move her body to Killdeer. The Episcopal faith funeral was held at Gethsemane cathedral with many mourners and bar members as pallbearers.

British Vessels Sunk by German Submarine Off Saint Ives
The Hopemount steamship of 3300 tons was torpedoed and sunk west of Saint Ives, England. Its crew were saved.
