Col J C McKendry longtime Fargo figure and Masonic temple custodian died after gallstone surgery at a local hospital. Born 1854 in Newton Stewart Scotland he built business roots in Albion and Fargo shaping community education. Body to lie in state at temple from 1:30 Friday to 1:30 Saturday for viewing. The British steamer Erna Boldt was torpedoed and sunk off Harwich by a German submarine. crew saved.
