Borrowed engine crash kills two men near Silver Grove
A roundhouse man employed at the Peake & Ohio near Silver Grove borrowed a locomotive to pick flowers for his wife. Early today the engine collided with another, killing both men and injuring three others. Both engines were demolished.

Man shoots wife then kills self in Chicago
Chicago. June 3. William Haller, a carpenter, shot his wife through both cheeks after being chided for staying out until 2 a.m. He then shot himself in the forehead and died.
