Attorney General Linde Seeks Restraining Order on Milwaukee Road

North Dakota Attorney General H J Linde files a suit and restraining order to stop liquor shipments into Emmons County. Evidence from Milwaukee Road freight records shows large beer and liquor movements to Linton Strassburg Hague and Hague routes from 1913 to 1915. Several named consignees and towns are listed with substantial beer barrels and liquor transfers.

Washington June 7 Secretary Bryan met with President Wilson at noon and is understood to have reviewed the final draft of the German note with the president. St Louis Arrives from Europe with Lusitania Survivors

The steamer St Louis reached New York from Liverpool carrying 41 passengers including seven Lusitania survivors. Among them is Mrs J Harvey Page who traveled from England to scatter roses above her husband’s grave. Refugee Train Set To Leave Mexico City Today

Washington reports a special train will carry a multinational refugee party from Mexico City to join Vera Cruz routes. The party includes 90 Americans, 44 English, 127 Spaniards and 57 others, with total expected to exceed 600 as more refugees depart. Villa-Zapata authorities will coordinate the transfer to Tizayuca where met by another train.

The Fargo fire began twenty two years ago at 2 07 in a frame building where the Annex hotel stood. It leaped Front Street and menaced Broadway to the Great Northern tracks before ripping back along Broadway’s west side to N P Avenue destroying the heart of the business section.

Beauty Special With Fifty American Beauties Aboard Starts on Trip

Fort Madison Iowa June 7 bearing the neat valuable cures ever shipped on rail road the Universal Beauty special left Chicago at 6 o clock Sunday evening carrying fifty beauties from the west to Universal City and the two Californias one sans. Hundreds of Chicagoans gathered at the station and cheered as the train pulled out. The band played Goodbye Ladies and many voices joined in as auto rides and lake shore crowds created a festive scene. The display of beauty girls sparked excitement along the boulevard and by the lake as the party headed east.
