Fargo marks the twentieth anniversary of the 1893 blaze that swept the business district. Duluth boosters head a grand parade at 2 10 PM with floats from jobbers and builders, Shriners, and many civic groups, as residents recall a city rebuilt from ashes.

Desperado Kills Two Deputies Near Brimley

In Sault Ste. Marie Michigan on June 7 Voueph Tovens, a lumber camp worker, shot and killed two deputy sheriffs who had arrested him after a stabbing at Brimley. James Sutton and Alfred Lehribner died. Tovens escaped as deputies pursued him amid a looming lynch threat. Police seek the suspect as vigilante threats rise in the region.

Palmer Woman Had Bad Time In Minneapolis

Frances Palmer alias Gertie Warner, arrested in Grand Forks weeks ago, says she was mistreated by Devils Lake and Grand Forks police. She told Associated Charities of Minneapolis she was robbed at Devils Lake of about 150 dollars and beaten. Devils Lake police say she was drunk. she was removed from a train in Grand Forks and again later when intoxicated. Minneapolis charity is being notified.

Pardons Granted After Board Meeting in Bismarck

After a two day pardon hearing at the penitentiary the board adjourned with eighty five applications reviewed. Only two full pardons were granted Sam Warbitsky of McLean county for embezzlement and George Zavainy of McLean county for incest who received a conditional pardon.

Northern Pacific Offers 50 Dollar Silver Cup at Interstate Fair

Imperial Potentate Irwin Fargo praises the Masonic homecoming in Fargo during a grand electric parade. Wilson Will Not Answer the Charges in Senate Testimony

Washington June 7 senators on the lobby investigating committee said Townsend’s charge that Wilson has lobbied for the tariff bill would not be acted on without specific names.
