Vigilants in Control in Teller County District

A self appointed vigilance committee comprising mine owners, their employees and sympathizers has seized control of Teller County's government in Cripple Creek. Large armed squads patrol the district while Sheriff Henry Robertson resigns under pressure after a rope was thrown at him. Edward Bell replaces him and has appointed twenty five deputies with further forces added since.
