In Cuxhaven Germany two 17 year old youths formed a pirate expedition aboard a schooner. Armed with men and ample ammunition they attempted to resist police while the wounded fled. Authorities intervened as a force arrived to capture the vessel and the youths.

Chicago June 6 Leopold Dreyfus of L. Dreyfus & Co committed suicide after police reported a confession tying him to the burning of his Market Street clothiers shop last Saturday. Gasoline cans found in rooms, extensive questioning, and a claimed light on other downtown fires fueled talk of an organized band of incendiaries offering to burn businesses for pay. Dreyfus and his brother were detained, Leopold later shot himself in the presence of an officer.

Twenty four students received diplomas at the North Dakota Agricultural College in a morning ceremony at the armory marking the college's twentieth anniversary. H D Mack awarded the diplomas as President Worst addressed the audience on The Emancipation of Agriculture. The Odd Fellows and Rebekahs of North Dakota gather in Grand Forks with about 200 in attendance for a two day state meeting and annual encampment. Mayor Murphy welcomed the group at the Commercial Club as city officials received the ceremonial keys. Members toured the city in the afternoon.
