Fargo correspondent claims The Fargo Searchlight falsely accused W C Gilbreath commissioner of agriculture and labor. The piece asserts no money of convicts was mishandled and expenditures were endorsed by Burke, auditor board chair. Page four continuation noted.
Bismarck North Dakota saw the Elks receive their charter and form a local lodge last night led by Deputy Palda of Minot. Visitors joined from Dickinson Jamestown Minot Valley City Fargo and other towns. No initiations were conducted as local members became charter members. A large initiation class is planned in a few months.

He offered a guilty plea for selling liquor without a government license but the judge postponed ruling and bail was set at 200. The alleged bootlegging occurred in Sheyenne ND with witnesses saying Paul sold liquor to informants. paul claims coercion to join the bootlegging operation and says he acted to obtain information. The case resumes at the next federal term.
A Hyden Kentucky fire destroyed over half the town last night, likely arson with losses around 15000 dollars. The Hyden academy burned about a month earlier, suspected same arsonists. Hyden, seat of Leslie county, amid years long feud warfare between French and Versal factions. A Fargo post office letter to attorney Charles B. Lane, North Dakota, is held. No city named.
Last evening at 6 30 over one hundred juniors seniors and faculty of the high school attended the annual banquet for the graduating class. Roy Cruickshank acted as toastmaster and each toast impressed with its quality. Speakers included Bruce Burritt Eva Kimball William art Mr. Galloway Miss Beatrice Gibson and others as Susie Martin Naomi Draeseke George Stickney and Alfred Hauser joined in the celebration with songs and dancing to follow.
A high speed Big Four passenger train crashed into a market wagon at Findlay street grade crossing in Dayton early this morning. E. H. Combs a farmer from near Tippecanoe City and his two children aged 17 and 15 were killed while on their way to the Dayton market.
Mrs Dora E Doxey was acquitted of murder in the case of Wm J Erder and rearrested on a St Louis county warrant charging bigamy. The state alleges she married Erder and the arrest followed in Clayton.
The North Dakota Supreme Court creates Burke and Renville counties from parts of Ward. After appeal, both counties are organized with Kenmare vote invalidated. Governor Burke will appoint commissioners, establish a temporary seat, and set petition deadlines for candidates by June 9 if no hitches arise.

Carrington June 4 due to a wreck the petition of L N Miller of McHenry for state attorney on the Republican ticket at the June primaries failed to reach Auditor Burnham before the nomination deadline. Attorney General Miller advised the petition could not be received. Filing time extended to Saturday 4 p m because Sunday and holiday shifted the deadline.
Theodore Roosevelt Jr. aged 22, a manufacturer from Oyster Bay, and Miss Edith Butler Alexander, 21, of New York City, applied at City Hall for a license to wed on June 20. Roosevelt announced his engagement today.
