A daytime robbery occurred in Minneapolis when a satchel carrying funds was snatched from a treasurer or official near a university area. The incident happened early this morning and involved a loss totaling thirteen thousand eight hundred twenty six dollars. Police investigations are underway.
J D Bron cashier of the University of Minnesota was robbed of 18 826 pounds on the campus just after dawn. He had drawn the funds from Northwestern National Bank in Minneapolis and was unguarded when two men struck him and a third grabbed the satchel. Police in Minneapolis and St Paul search for the suspects.
Galveston Texas June 2 Governor Colquitt of Texas faces church pressure over politics and prohibition. The Methodist church asked for his resignation for aligning with reformers in campaign speeches. He declines to quit the church and rejects expulsion, arguing prohibition is not a religious issue.

Pembina North Dakota reports 65 year old M Bar Ket was struck and killed today by a four unit Pacific freight train near Pembina. Details were unclear as the article ends mid sentence.
Congressman Hanna halted in Fargo during a Portland trip, greeting constituents at First National Bank and on the streets. He said he sought a 30 day leave from Congress after six months of continuous attendance, and discussed session duration and Speaker Clark’s fairness.
In St Paul and Sabbatication on June 2 Governor Burke of North Dakota said Champ Clark is the Democrats’ logical presidential candidate next year while adding no North Dakota man has a chance to be nominated. Hillsboro North Dakota June 2. Austin Hauge a desperate crazed farmer armed with a rifle tried to kill his housekeeper Mrs Wigness near Shelly Minnesota. He fled toward North Dakota, Deputy Sheriffs Gaman and Wulse pursued and captured him near Buxton after disabling his horses. Hauge, a former Fergus Falls asylum inmate, had reportedly escaped about a year ago.

The sixth annual meeting of the Lutheran Hospital association elected directors for three year and one year terms. Three year directors chosen were H H Aaker John Martin and Rev N Lehart. One year directors were J N Gaard and H W McArdle. Committee to revive by laws appointed. 985 votes represented. 1787 shares paid up. past year 784 patients with diverse church affiliations. The hospital continues as an interdenominational institution.
New York reports Henry A. Sheth, the sole suspect, fought for freedom as investigators tie him to the woman found dead in a bathtub at a former flat. The body shows four months of decomposition. Chauffeur maintains innocence while Connor O Grady of Springfield Minnesota identifies the prisoner as Hugh Allerton Sherman, who married the victim.
Washington June 2 The senate committee on privileges and elections will meet tomorrow to consider the Lorimer case. The committee will choose a subcommittee of elect members to conduct the inquiry as suggested yesterday in open senate. When this decision is made the names will be reported to the senate which will either confirm or reject them. It is not believed there will be further debate as all concerned appear to be anxious that the inquiry shall be undertaken as speedily as possible.
Arrangements are nearly complete for the Mayville Normal School summer school from July 10 to August 8. The program follows the new law effective July 1 and offers six subject areas including agriculture domestic science and manual training with six week courses in each. Emphasis is on practical work for rural elementary teachers and renewal of certificates.
Washington June 2 Elbert H Gary chairman of United States Steel testified before the house steel trust investigation committee declaring the Sherman act harsh but predicting government control of corporations will come He announced plans for an international steel institute to be formed in Brussels July 6 and 7 to parallel the American Iron and Steel Institute and defend the steel trade Gary insisted no unlawful combination exists and pledged to aid the institute while outlining aims for global steel cooperation
Langdon North Dakota June 3 Bowers Bros of Fargo were awarded the contract for the erection of the new 60 000 school building and will commence work at once. The building will feature pressed brick and stone construction with modern conveniences including a fan ventilation system gymnasium chemical and physical laboratories a large auditorium and drinking fountains.
Judge Pollock ruled in favor of the drainage board in the cane case before the district court. The action was dismissed as the court found no fraud or misapplication of benefits in the assessment process and held the board’s proceedings regular and within its jurisdiction.
