Fires at Milton and Conway Cause Major Losses in North Dakota

A Milton elevator of the Minneapolis and Northern line was totally destroyed by a fire that started about 8:30 AM. Losses amount to 15,000 with 7,000 for the building and 7,000 bushels of wheat. Agent Ragnar Peterson narrowly escaped, found unconscious under debris. Fire blamed on a tipped lantern. building insured. Also reported is the destruction of John Worth’s restaurant and lodging house in Conway, with 2,000 building loss and 800 stock loss, plus 1,300 insurance on the building and 390 on the stock, and a burglary at F. J. King’s store in Conway totaling 400.
