The funeral of Elgen Frank Weston, junior general agent for International Harvester, who died suddenly last Sunday, was held at 11 this morning at First Presbyterian Church. A large crowd of friends, including northwest implement men and local business leaders attended. The service was led by Rev. Charles Ryan Adams. Interment followed at Riverside cemetery chapel before the body was moved to Oakes cemetery next spring to join his mother. Weston was highly respected by both local and regional colleagues and mourned by his widow.
Late this afternoon the Northern Pacific division office announced freight is being received at Minneapolis and St Paul for Jamestown to Bismarck routes and for branch lines to Butte Helena Seattle Tacoma and Portland. The territory will expand by tomorrow and Fargo may begin receiving freight for branch line points.
In last night’s YMCA regular basketball league, the Birds defeated the Juniors 38 to 14 while the Moorheads overwhelmed the Tigers 24 to 8. Both games showed lively action despite wide margins. Lineup listed follows.

Edith Clara Grant, daughter of Chief of Police Grant, died last night from typhoid fever complications. She passed away at 11 pm at her parents' home after medical efforts. A bright young woman with many friends, funeral arrangements were not yet set but would be announced later.

Frank Kethman was found guilty of murder in the second degree for the Labor Day killing of Dr. Thrond Egge. He received life imprisonment at Stillwater after a 15 hour, 20 minute jury deliberation. The case, tried from Nov. 19 to Nov. 23, featured emotional scenes as Kethman and his wife faced the verdict and sentence.
John McCarthy of Barnesville was sentenced by Judge Taylor to ten months in the state penitentiary for complicity in robbing Great Northern freight cars. Accomplices include George Frankhauser, serving a life term, and Joe Welthouse who turned state's evidence. The judge rejected a jail sentence due to county jail unfitness and availability of a good behavior release by mid next summer.
