Cheyenne Wyo Aug 24 officers at Camp Crawford deny a Denver rumor that a young woman was maltreated by 32 artillerymen last Sunday. Privates claimed 26 of the 32 were locked in the guard house as the tale spread.
Chicago reports the arrest of George W. Fitzgerald in the $173,000 United States treasury theft case from Feb 20, 1907. Fitzgerald, an assistant treasurer teller, is expected to plead not guilty while detectives pursue co conspirators. The breakthrough ends months of government mystery and investigation.
Baltimore authorities say Mrs Bonn Rosenblom and her daughter confessed the body in a trunk found at Belle Mawr N. S. August. The women, 57 and 16, claim the husband was killed by son Alexander Rosenblom in Windber Pa around November 12 last. They were arrested at their East Baltimore street home after police surveillance.
Frankfort Germany Aug 24 Herr Colterman cashier of the partment of the Mittelhutsch Credit bank shot himself dead in the city. He had embezzled 125000 dollars from the bank and left a confession addressed to the management. Colterman had speculated on the London exchange.

The body found in the Red River near Grand Forks North Dakota has been identified as Geo McEllie of Peoria. Dr McElis had been forking for a farmer and left to work for another man across the river. It is believed he attempted to swim the river, suffered cramps and drowned.
