Murphy Returns After Long Absence to Find Family Gone

Mat Murphy, once a Dubuque youth, fled after a drunken spree believing he killed a man. He came back at age fifty on August 30 to learn his father’s relatives were dead from cholera in St. Louis. He seeks a burial place to erect a monument.
