Harvey Wendt, former Fairfield resident, died in France from pneumonia while serving in World War I. A USC debater and Delta Sigma Rho member, he enlisted with Los Angeles men and served in base hospital No. 35, where he led a ward and oversaw fifty orderlies. He is survived by his father W. A. Wendt of Pasadena and his brother Alvin Wendt.

Rorick’s Milit ary Honors Given at Fairfield Church
Last rites for Lieutenant Elroy E. Rorick were held at the Presbyterian church in Fairfield with Rev. H A Mosser leading. Military honors by Parson’s college soldiers followed a grave service conducted by Masons and Eastern Stars. Rorick died November 17 after injuries from a collision en route to Camp Stanley Texas after a Fort Still visit, later developing pneumonia. He was 35, survived by wife Stella Pidd Rorick and son Shirley Merle, his Iowa City parents, a brother in White Salmon Washington, and his mother in law.
