Frightened boy wanders in rural Iowa search
In Traer Iowa on November 5 a 16-year-old son of Patrick Lynch fled after a fright by local youths. Fifty to two hundred farmers from Garwin area hunted him for more than 24 hours. He traveled about two miles, lacked food, and was found in a Garwin field guarded by rescuers.

Carload of Cattle Stolen Near Conrad Iowa
Eldora Iowa November 5 A group stole twenty three cattle from Bunker and Morrow and kept them on Frank Evans farm four miles north of Conrad. The herd was driven away Wednesday night and traces vanished as cattle were likely shipped by train to a distant market. A prior theft of twenty fat cattle from Horace Boies near Grundy Center ended with no recovery of property or proceeds.
