Alfred Gray born December 23 1811 in Guilford County North Carolina died October 13 1899. Married May 7 1833 to Elizabeth A Hancher. They had thirteen children ten sons and three daughters. eleven children and his widow survive. He moved to Iowa in 1836 Jefferson County in 1856 remained resident. last survivor of nine siblings. Described as honest upright indulgent father loving husband charitable and just. Sickness lasted thirty hours. He was eighty seven years ten months ten days.
