Ottumwa city council approves a report by C M Junkin and C M McElroy clearing the Ottumwa Courier of all claims of illeg al measurements. The findings say the measurements were within legal limits and the Courier is fully exonerated.
The Dennison Bulletin cites a long battle over liquor laws. It notes that the Democratic party and Iowa press warned against prohibition, while Republicans faced ridicule as bloated-whisky crats. After fifteen years of trial the Republican legislature now permits sale and manufacture of liquors, vindicating the Democrats.
