Clifford Bailey and family from Fairfield spent Sunday with Mrs. Bailey's parents. Miss Vera Kyle of the Friends Sabbath school attended the state convention at Cedar Rapids and reported it at church. Mrs. Melvin Smith's mother from New Sharon is visiting. Jessie Lamm and wife visited Ottumwa with their son Eddie Heston and family at the Ottumwa hospital where Lester, their son, is a patient.
W I C Ladies of Pleasant Grove church met at Mrs N B Reg ester home in Fairfield after the business meeting time was spent visiting. Several local visits and family dinners are noted including Beulah Van Dyke staying with Fern Godwin near Fairfield and Hazel Scott visiting Elizabeth Harris at Richland. Born May 4 at Fairfield to Albert Coffin and wife a baby daughter.
Nettie Love Smith born May 20 1871 Weston Texas died May 2 1922 at her home one mile north of Packwood at age 51. Married Richard M. Smith in 1892 Iowa. One daughter Cloe Horner. Survived by husband mother Mrs Shirey three sisters and two brothers. Funeral at Christian church conducted by Rev Ernie Fry Mr Smith a longtime patient. Interment Packwood cemetery new plot.

Four Mesquakie Indians from Tama county visited Des Moines on Sunday and gave an interesting program at Dr Medburys church directed by Edgar R Harlan curator of the state historical department. The group wore original costumes with feathered headdresses and facial paint while presenting as Maqui-banas-ha Kee-satuck Nana-ky-e-be and Mesheka. They answered questions about Sabbath practices and Sunday school on the reservation.
