The bill passed along with several pension bills. At two o clock Edmunds bill was laid before the Senate Spooner spoke in favor and Saulsbury opposed the resolution.
Miss Daisy Carroll, a prominent Rhea county social figure, has been arrested by Pinkerton detectives for allegedly conspiring in a $100,000 embezzlement at Champion works in Springfield Ohio. Conflicting rumors place her husband or confidant Frank Jones as a bookkeeper partner. books found in her ice house tie her to the scheme. She will be transported to Ohio for investigation.
