Mr Lawrence Ewart will perform a return date in We Are King at the Grand on Thursday March 19. The town notes a Kargon Compound prescription filled accurately at Shriner's drug store and local bets on public events.
In district court the February term closed on schedule but was reconvened due to the state versus G. Clark case from Appanoose county. Four related indictments involve obtaining money under false pretenses and a failure of Clark & Peatman Investment Co. of Centerville. Jurors were drawn, with motions to remove the case from the jury. Peatman was arrested on embezzlement charges. trial set for next term. Probate matters include estates of Martin Stuart Smith Foote Gillis and others with final reports approved and executors named.
William Gilbert aged, a respected resident, died suddenly at his East Washington street home Monday afternoon after a morning fainting spell. Survived by son Ed Gilbert and daughter Mrs Molly Liblin, funeral planned at 2 PM from the home with Rev. Osborne officiating and Evergreen cemetery interment.
