Death of former Iowa Supreme Court Judge Beck at Fort Madison
J. M. Beck ex judge of the Iowa supreme court was found dead in bed at his Fort Madison home on May 380th after years of rheumatism and heart trouble. An examination attributed death to heart disease. Beck served twenty four years on the Iowa supreme court retiring January 1 1892 and was noted for his dissent when a prohibition amendment was declared invalid.

Standard Food Boosts Gains For Iowa Cattle Feeds
In Iowa the Standard Food from the F. E. Sanborn Co. is credited with substantial gains using 54 head fed in three phases. C. F. Close of Wayland reports that adding 50 pounds of Standard Food to 80 days of crushed corn and pasture raised average weights from 1,254 to 1,351 pounds for ten head and from 1,844 to 1,436 pounds for forty-four head, with further gains when the entire herd received the supplement.
