Dead couple found in log cabin near Logan Ohio
In a log cabin four miles from Logan Ohio the bodies of James Phillips and his wife were found June 2. A note and children’s testimony indicate Phillips killed his wife with a pocket knife and then cut his own throat. A cyclone near Milton North Carolina destroyed a 25 mile by 500 yard track with no known deaths. A fierce storm in Washington County Arkansas damaged homes and reportedly caused seven deaths and seven to eight injuries. Alice Woodhull, famed forger, was returned to the United States and jailed in Ludlow Street Jail after her England voyage and $150,000 forged payoff.

A. W. Durham Suffers Amputation At Saw Mill
A. W. Durham of Rose Hill area three miles northwest was injured at a saw mill when his left hand was drawn into the saw. The injury necessitated amputation at the wrist.
