Fairfield Public Schools Close After Strongest Year Yet

The Fairfield public schools end a successful year with the twelfth annual high school commencement on May 30 at the opera house. Six graduates, four girls and two boys, delivered varied orations after a program entirely organized by students, featuring songs and essays on Joan of Arc, Lincoln, Gustavus Adolphus, and Zenobia.

City Schools Report June 1 1804 Attendance and Punctuality

The city schools report for the month ending June 1 1804 shows enrollment figures for boys and girls, room rankings by attendance, and punctuality records. Franklin and Logan rooms excel in punctuality with several perfect days noted. Memorial Day affected attendance but remained strong, with 325 pupils attending on Memorial Day.

Year in Review at George Strong Post and Local School Enrollment

The report notes 800 enrolled students this year across the district 446 boys and 444 girls, up 44 from last year. At the high school 47 boys and 59 girls enrolled. overall attendance averages are high with 93.58 percent this year. February saw peak attendance while December was the low. April had the most regular attendance and January the least. Sixteen teacher meetings studied White's Pedagogy and The History of Education. of seventeen teachers five attended all, five all but one, four all but two, two all but three, and one all but six. Forty-three pupils never missed a half day. four of these graduated on commencement day. The year was prosperous with no epidemics or major disturbances. The following is the assessment for next year.
