Preparatory Contest Attracts Local Youth Performers
A crowded June 1 gathering hosted second and third year contestants for prizes of 10.00 dollars each. The second year featured a declamation titled Baker's Reply to Breckenridge by Andrew J. Irwin, with strong content but rough polish. The third year presented an ovation, with Rev. Dr. Magill delivering the invocation.
