Carter Lawson in Liberty Township reported the largest oats per acre to date with seven and two thirds acres of Big Yellow yielding 580 bushels, about 75.14 per acre. Oats price at city elevators stood at 29 cents per bushel.

Creston Iowa July 28 arrests were made of seven Afton men Lester Brown W B Cargill R Eastman Edwin Coen C K Sennett Burr Breed and Harry Coen on charges of disturbing the Sabbath peace by playing baseball within city limits. The alleged game occurred July 21 a venue change was granted and the case will be heard next Friday with bonds set at 50 dollars each.
