Unusual Road Accident Near Packwood Injures Several
A car owned by Emery Edwards and driven by Floyd Reynolds struck a buggy near Packwood injuring Frank Malotte who was riding. Malotte was seriously hurt and unconscious for a time. The buggy horses leapt into Dr. Stepp’s approaching car injuring Dr. Stepp and George Oaley. Oaley jumped clear. Stepp suffered injuries from hoofs and glass. Edwards party remained uninjured.

The July gathering of the Jefferson County Community club in Libertyville drew about three hundred guests served a 6:30 dinner by Libertyville Presbyterian women. Mayor Carter welcomed visitors. Alice Louise Shrode, 13, presented a varied program of readings songs and whistles including Fishin Anybody Want a Baby and The Monkey Man with wide praise. About fifty auto loads from Fairfield attended the hospitable event on the church lawn.
