The ten ear grand champion sale reached 21 50, highest on record. Animal husbandry saw cattle and hogs in the ring and notable slaughter tests by John Gosling.

Robbers Fail In Bold Mail Wagon Heist In Chicago
In front of the Masonic Temple a would be robber tried to seize a mail wagon. The assailant copied a two year old method but fled empty handed as the collector returned and a pursuit by John Longenan, superintendent of mails, ended with the robber leaping away. Butcher Fined for Illegal Fishing in Big Sioux River
After a Hawarden trial, John Schumaker of Sioux City was fined 600 dollars for illegal fishing in the Big Sioux.
