A mass meeting is set for Tuesday evening at the hall to consider bringing a Keokuk based putton factory to the city. The company, with plants in Canton Missouri and Muscatine, seeks a lot and a two story building, promising annual wages of 50 000 to 60 000 dollars.

The case of Z. T. Moore versus Isaac and Mary Fryman, linked to the defunct International Land company, goes to trial this week in the district court. Moore alleges he paid $6,000 in 1907 for Texas lands and never received a deed or refund. The Frymans claim they were victims of the failed company and acted in good faith.
